maseytoys..... dazzlingly good diecasts!

June is going to be a busy month. As well as about two hundred Matchbox items still to list from May, I am attending a number of specialist diecast auctions in the UK starting Monday 1st June and I'm hopeful for winning some great items. I am still on target to list 80-100 items a week (mainly Matchbox) and I'm pleased to say these have sold to people in countries where I have not yet shipped to: Brazil, Argentina, China, Egypt to name just a few. On the point of shipping, there have been a number of issue with the German postal service. Three items took between two and three weeks to arrive, so if anyone can shed any light on this I'd be grateful.

I have just listed 40 or so Matchbox and I have about another 60-80 to list this month. It's been a very busy April so far. In researching my Matchbox book I visited the old factory this week. It's soon to be demolished and whilst I took some great shots, it was sad to see the derelict building, empty but still with the foundry, production line and offices intact. My book should be complete and on sale in a few months. Of course, it will be available on eBay! By the way, I've changed the company name to maseytoys!

Just to say that I'm in negotiations with a publisher to write a book on Matchbox Toys. On March 2nd I will be visiting the old Lesney Products building where Matchbox toys were made in the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s and I've been offered the chance to visit the current owners Lesney archive. Sadly the building is has outline planning permission for demolition and redevelopment.

You'll now find that every week there will be new listings on eBay. I am traveling the length and breadth of the UK in search of those little gems and I have found some lovely models which have been hotly bid on and shipped to the farthest corners of the globe: Germany, Guadaloup and.... erm, Gosport!
